Winterfest is a 10-day community-wide celebration coordinated by Santa’s Pantry. The festivities begin with a holiday dance at the Matterhorn on Friday, November 30, and end with a 5K benefit walk on Sunday, Dec 9. The days between will be filled with family- friendly fun, including a parade, breakfast with Santa, ice sculpting, local high school choirs, Museum tours and much more! Nearly forty businesses, groups and individuals are involved, (see the list here). Twelve nonprofit organizations, as well as the entire community will benefit!
The Downtown Parade steps off at 6:00 p.m. Saturday,
Dec. 1. This year’s theme is “Big City, Bright Lights.” Watch for the Elkhart Public Library float! Following the parade, there will be a tree lighting on the Civic Plaza.
The following Saturday, December 8, will be Winterfest Family Day at the Main Library in Downtown Elkhart. Our activities from 9:00-1:00 will include face painting, puppet shows, a holiday centerpiece craft demonstration, an eBook buyer’s guide/demo, scavenger hunts, music, giveaways and much more. Santa Claus and the Snow Queen will be here, and you can make an ornament for our Commemorative Community Tree!

Arthur Christmas (PG) begins at 1:30 p.m.
Sunday, December 9 will feature a Mini HealthFair at the High Dive Pavilion, featuring Biggest Loser contestant Roy Pickler, followed by a 5k Santa Fun Stroll. Winterfest 2012, November 30-December 12, has something for almost everyone. We look forward to seeing you!
