ReadKiddoRead: Books Kids WANT to Read

ReadKiddoRead.com

ReadKiddoRead.com  was created by James Patterson to help parents and teachers find books that kids will truly enjoy reading. Author and reviewer Judy Freeman, in a 2010 School Library Journal interview, talked about the website and how it started:

“So here’s this stupendously successful and famous author with over 150 million books in print, and what was he dealing with at home a few years back? His own son, Jack, not wanting to read….  Patterson and his wife, Sue, went looking for titles Jack couldn’t put down and worked their parent mojo magic to get him into books. Jack’s now 11 or 12 and a voracious reader, so their efforts paid off in spades.

ReadKiddoRead was the first winner of the National Book Foundation’s Innovations in Reading Prize, and has been designated as one of the American Library Association’s Great Websites for Kids.

A great many ReadKiddoRead titles can be found in the Elkhart Public Library PAC (Public Access Catalog).
