Use Library Extension in Google Chrome to view library titles through Amazon.com
As you browse book and e-book titles on Amazon, the Library Extension checks your library’s online catalog and displays the availability of that title on the same page. If the book is available at your library, you’ll know instantly. There’s a quick, convenient link to access and reserve the title at your library.
The Library Extension is free, but currently only works with the Google Chrome web browser. You will see availability on the same page as Amazon’s offers and reviews. It’s free and no sign-up is required. Install the Library Extension from www.libraryextension.com.
Once you have installed Library Extension, go to Amazon.com and open the Library Extension menu by clicking the bookstack icon at the right end of the address bar.
From the drop-down menus, choose your state, then your library, and click the plus sign on the right. The name of your library will show up in the space below. “Books” and “eBooks” will be checked. If you only want to see holdings for one of them, uncheck the other. Click “close” in the bottom right corner.
If you ever want to change, add or remove a library, or update your book/e-book preferences, simply click the bookstack icon.
Browse Amazon and select a title. If the library has the book, it will be listed on the right side of the screen. Clicking on the plus sign will show which library locations currently have the title available.
