DESCRIPTION:The funk is back. Chicago-based Bumpus has stayed true to its roots and is still “Fresh” – the band gets its inspiration from the sounds of that classic Sly and the Family Stone record. With deep bass\, horns and organ\, band members bring the energy of James Brown with the cool of Marvin Gaye. They’ve appeared on stage with Maceo Parker\, The Roots\, Dr. John\, They Might Be Giants\, and Hootie and the Blowfish. \nThis Jazz Fest Afterparty is a free show\, with the band playing on the roof of Elkhart Public Library. Bring a camp chair\, bring your dancing shoes. That Guys Gourmet Ribs will be cooking\, and cold beverages will be for sale in the parking lot.
