Elkhart Public Library is attempting to fill Interlibrary Loan requests. Other libraries may not be participating due to the public health situation, though, and the process may take longer than usual. Thank you for understanding. Please email with questions.
Books, large print books, audiobooks, CDs, educational DVDs, and articles not available in Elkhart Public Library’s collection may be available to cardholders through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program. Libraries have the ability to share collections across the United States. Generally, it takes two weeks or more to receive materials.
ILL is available to EPL cardholders in good standing, meaning current registration with no outstanding overdue materials.
Some items – such as new releases, popular movies, and reference and genealogy items – may not be obtainable.
Borrowed items are subject to fees for damaged or lost materials.
Renewals are not always available. Any renewal requests are subject to approval by the lending library and must be made three (3) days before the due date. To renew an ILL item, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Reference Desk: 574-522-5669.
Placing a request:
- Use our online form below, or call Reference Services at 574-522-5669.
- Stop at the Downtown Library Reference Desk or the Circulation Desk of any branch to fill out an ILL request form.
- Articles: provide the periodical name, title, author, volume number, date, and page numbers
- A maximum of three (3) requests may be processed at one time.
