Free activities for Black Friday

The day after Thanksgiving is a day to get out of the house and do something fun. But if you’re not looking to spend money on all the endless shopping deals, Elkhart Public Library has plenty of things to keep the family entertained.

All locations will be open for regular hours on Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Book one of our experience passes and visit great local attractions. Some attractions may be closed, so availability may vary.

Talk with Your Baby, a Notre Dame-led program for infants, is at 11 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

• Most locations have scavenger hunts and a craft always available in their children’s area. Ask at a desk and they’ll be happy to get you started.

Plus, we always have great options for books and movies to check out. Or you can stream at home with Hoopla or Kanopy through our Digital Library.

If you are shopping, the Digital Library offers Consumer Reports and the New York Times’ Wirecutter for looking for the best products and gifts to buy.

And if you don’t already have a library card, get one here.
