Accessing Osolo Branch during Bristol Street construction

City of Elkhart officials announced the 2026 road improvement schedule for Bristol Street, which may disrupt regular travel routes to the Osolo Branch throughout the summer.

However, the branch will remain open throughout the project and will remain accessible.

Road closures will begin east of the branch’s entrance, according to information released by city officials.

Beginning in April and continuing through November, Bristol Street east of Jeanwood Drive will have lane restrictions, limiting access to the branch.

According to plans released by the city, from May until August, Bristol Street’s westbound lanes will remain open to traffic in a one-way direction past County Road 15 to Jeanwood Drive. From August until November, the eastbound lanes of Bristol Street will remain open to traffic in a one-way direction from Jeanwood Drive to County Road 15.

The official detour route is to travel north on Jeanwood Drive or County Road 15 and use County Road 6 between County Road 15 and Jeanwood Drive.
