The difference EPL makes: 2025 Community Impact Report
Every day, Elkhart Public Library’s five locations serve thousands of community members with materials, answers, services and more.
Putting all of those into nice, neat numbers is difficult.
But we tried to do it anyway.

The 2025 Community Impact Report is here and highlights the wonderful things the library accomplished last year, while looking ahead to what’s coming.
Here are just a few of the highlights. You can check out the entire document right here.
• 50,724 people have library cards
• Over 250,000 items were checked out last year
• 57,894 people attended our programs — the seventh-highest among libraries in Indiana
• 2,369 kids registered for the Summer Reading Challenge — and logged 93,254 days of reading, setting a new record
• Our Digital Library continues to increase in use — Libby had 150,261 checkouts in 2025, while Hoopla had 61,175
• 1,010 checkouts of our experience passes, saving users over $44,000 in admission fees
• 878 groups used EPL meeting spaces across all locations
• $20,801 was received in donations last year
Plenty of other interesting stats and information are in the report, so check it all out. Copies are available to be picked up at our Meet Your Library Director events coming up, too. Find those on our events page.
