Osolo Branch remains accessible during Bristol Street construction

City of Elkhart officials announced the 2026 road improvement schedule for Bristol Street, which may disrupt regular travel routes to the Osolo Branch this fall.

However, the branch will remain open and accessible throughout the project.

Road closures will begin east of the branch’s entrance, according to information released by city officials.

Beginning in April and continuing through November, Bristol Street east of Jeanwood Drive will have lane restrictions, limiting access to the branch.

According to plans released by the city, starting Sept. 8, Bristol Street’s eastbound lanes will remain open to traffic in a one-way direction past Jeanwood Drive to Homeland Road.

The official detour route is to travel north on Jeanwood Drive or County Road 15 and use County Road 6 between County Road 15 and Jeanwood Drive.
