Access children’s, teens, educational and other books with TumbleBooks

The newest addition to the EPL Digital Library is TumbleBooks, a wide-ranging resource of books for children of all ages.

Unlike some other resources, TumbleBooks items do not need to be checked out or held, they’re all available immediately and are available on any device, no downloads or apps necessary.

TumbleBooks is multiple services including:

TumblebookLibrary:  Thousands of books for K-6 and early readers, includes:

  • “Story Books”: Animated books that read aloud with moving pictures.
  • “Read alongs”: Read alongs that also read aloud but are more focused on learning reading skills, focusing on the words on the page.  
  • Graphic novels, including Geronimo Stilton
  • Many books include optional quizzes to test reading comprehension.
  • National Geographic videos (Nature and science)
  • Spanish and French language learning books


  • Hundreds of books that introduce math concepts in fun ways; these are stories, not textbooks. Basic things like addition, subtraction, but also practical skills like measurement, money and word problems.
  • Tumblebooks is Canadian, so you can definitely learn the metric system!
  • All books tie to relevant common core quizzes. Quizzes can be taken independent of books.
  • Like the “Story books:” Most books read themselves aloud, many have animation.


  • An offering of teen books available on demand, for the grades 7-12 crowd


  • A selection of mostly adult audiobooks.


  • Wide selection of eBooks, searchable by category
