Free books returns to feed minds

Elkhart Public Library is partnering up this summer to give away more than 1,000 books.

EPL, Crossroads United Way, the Community Foundation of Elkhart County and Friends of the Elkhart Public Library are bringing back Free Books to Free Minds, a collaborative effort that put nearly 1,000 books in the hands of children last summer and has its sights set even higher this year.

Through giveaways in the community this summer, the goal is to give away over 1,000 books. Books have already been given away at Concord Schools and more will be given away at summer meal pick up at Elkhart schools, as well as at pop up locations at Martin’s Super Markets and events at EPL branches.
