Local museum, parks passes part of library collection

An Elkhart Public Library card can be your ticket to going to a number of local places.

Patrons can check out Elkhart County Parks passes for admission to Ox Bow Park, as well as passes for the Ruthmere and Havilah Beardsley homes, Potawatomi Zoo and Wellfield Gardens passes too.

The library has one pass each for Potawatomi Zoo, Ruthmere and the Beardsley homes, available at the Downtown library only.

There are five Elkhart County Parks passes available, one each at all library locations.

Each EPL branch has two Wellfield Botanic Garden passes available. Wellfield also hosts EPL’s Story Walk.

The pass for the zoo and Wellfield Gardens are supported by the Friends of the Elkhart Public Library.

Giving opportunities for locals to visit museums and educational places located in our community is part of the library’s mission to inform, inspire and empower our diverse communities.

Futhermore, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum offers Access Pass, a reduced admission cost program for low-income Hoosier families for 12 attractions in Indianapolis, Bloomington and Terre Haute.

Hoosier families that are enrolled in SNAP, TANF and/or Hoosier Healthwise Insurance may easily sign up for the program through the Access Pass website, where they can fill out the application and submit the required documents online.
