Get Alzheimer’s and dementia care help from REAL Services

REAL Services will be offering free monthly educational classes throughout 2019 at Elkhart Public Library, aimed at helping those caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

On the second Wednesday of every month in 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the downtown Elkhart Public Library, experts will offer an introductory class, a complementary lunch and then a speaker.

The next session is Wednesday, April 10.

The intro class remains the same from 10 to 11:30 a.m. every month, but from noon to 1:30 p.m. there will be a different speaker every month.

To RSVP and ensure you will receive the lunch and materials call Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana at 574-232-4121 or toll free at 888-303-0180.

The number of people having to care for a relative that has been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s is increasing and it can be overwhelming and difficult to know where to start or how to care for someone.

REAL Services’ Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana wants to help and will offer advanced issue session that change, in addition to an “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia” class monthly for new attendees.

The introductory class is led by Tish Holmes, program director for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services.
