Celebrating Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Elkhart Public Library and the Elkhart Chapter of Indiana Black Expo are celebrating Martin Luther King Day with a special breakfast event.

Leatra Scott of The Village Empowerment Center will deliver the keynote address, and the event also will feature a special performance by rebel noire.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m., and the event will begin at 8. Other events in the community celebrating Dr. King include a gathering at downtown’s Civic Plaza at 9:30 a.m., with a march to Community Baptist Church for a 10 a.m. program.
